The meeting was with full agenda, focused on the fight against the thousands of illegal online gambling sites that still operate in the country and the adaptation of the means of payment of the companies that support the operators that are not authorised to operate in the country.

The meeting was attended by the executive secretary of Bacen, Rogério Antonio Lucca; the chief of staff of the executive secretary, Mariane Santiago de Souza Nogueira; the chief of staff of the director of Economic Policy of Bacen, Eduardo José Araújo Lima; and the deputy head of the Department of Competition and Financial Market Structure of Bacen, Ricardo Pereira de Araújo.

‘We brought up issues relevant to the sector and that have a direct impact on the country's economy. Anatel's blocking of illegal online gambling sites is just one of the important actions that guarantee transparency and security in the gambling market. With BACEN, this action can be projected and become even more efficient, from the adequacy of the means of payment of the companies that reinforce the performance of operators who are not authorised to operate in the country’, explained Plínio.
